Our top 5 reasons to visit Iceland
The scenery
Jaw dropping scenery around every corner! Rivers, Lakes, Black Sand Beaches, Volcanoes, Glaciers… the list goes on. The most amazing thing is every season you visit Iceland; Summer, Autumn or winter it looks like a different country each time! Come during winter where blankets of snow cover the ground and the water falls are frozen. Its your very own Winter Wonderland! Then the colours of summer, the Lúpína purple flowers as far as the eye can see, the opened-up highlands recovering from winter and the luscious green fields.
Action and Adventure
There is always something to do in Iceland, even if you don’t want to do anything! Take a gental Horseback Ride on the famous Icelandic Horse, glide across the glacier on a Snowmobile or put on your crampons and hike across the glacier. In the summer, you can visit the inside of a dormant Volcano, or for a more relaxed pace take a helicopter flight across a more active one! And no trip to Iceland is complete without taking a relaxing dip in a Geothermal pool.
The Northern Lights
We are lucky enough in the winter months to have the nights sky come alive and dance for us! This natural phenomenon creates quite a stir, a must see on quite a few people bucket list! The night sky is suddenly lit up with a wondrous glow that twists and swirls above and is one of the great timeless thrills of travel, a beautiful, shifting dance of nocturnal rainbows that many find a humbling and spiritually uplifting experience.
Summer Days
An opposite to the dance of the night sky is during our summer when we have the Midnight Sun – long days where the sun does not really set, and night time is just a distant memory! This gives you the best opportunity to make the most of the long days and experience as much as you can. Watch the midnight sun hover above the horizon as it rises for a new day!
Its closer than you think
A stopping point between Europe and America – Iceland always surprises everyone on how close it is! From London it is just under a 3hr flight and from New York city under 6hrs. And the number of direct flights coming to Reykjavik is on the rise, making a short break or longer stay to Iceland so very convenient!
